Output n Settings

Output n tabs (Output 1, Output 2, etc) appear when any setting only applies to a particular channel. Select the appropriate tab to change the settings, which are grouped under the following categories:

Protection Related Settings

Turn off behavior Sets the output-off status (condition which is set on the channel automatically, immediately after its output is turned off).
Oscillation Protection (Osc) Enables or disables output oscillation protection. Oscillation protection shuts down the output if an oscillation is detected on the output.
Over-Power Protection (OPP) Enables or disables over-power protection. Over-power protection will turn the output off if the input power exceeds 110% of the module's power rating. You can also specify a delay time.

Mode Related Settings

Emulating The Emulating dropdown list lets you access the specialized operating modes of the Keysight N678xA SMU.
Preferred Mode Status Set the preferred mode to either Current or Voltage.

Output Related Settings

Current Limit Tracking Enables or disables current limit tracking.
Output Resistance Enables output resistance programming and sets the output resistance level.
Programmable Resistance If Programmable Resistance is enabled, the channel operates like an electric load.
Mode sets the operation mode (Fix or Emulate). For Fix mode, the channel works as a voltage source with built-in series resistor or a current source with a built-in shunt resistor. Enter the desired resistance value.
Power Limit Sets the power limit on output channels.
Voltage Bandwidth Programs the voltage bandwidth. Only applicable in Voltage priority mode.
Range - Sets the compensation modes to optimize output response time with capacitive loads (the options available vary according to the model).
Programming Pole Frequency/Level - Sets the low-pass filter corner frequency applied to the programming setpoint signal.
Voltage Limit Tracking Enables or disables voltage limit tracking.
Under Voltage Inhibit Enable under-voltage inhibit by selecting a Mode (Live or Latched). When enabled, the load will not sink current until the input voltage rises above the specified Voltage On setting.
Input Short Turn on to short the input terminals.
Relay Polarity Select Reverse to reverse the polarity of the output and sense terminals.
Relay Lock Closed Enables or disables the locked-closed state of the output relays.
Polarity – Sets the polarity of the output relays.

Slew Rate Related Settings

Slew Rate Select the Max checkbox to set the slew rate to the maximum value allowed. Deselect the checkbox if you wish to enter a specific value.

Measure Related Settings

Voltage Measurement Input Selects the voltage measurement input (output or auxiliary voltage).
